LIFE "AT THE LAKE"
If you'd like to experience a vacation leaving you feeling fully relaxed and at peace with the world, a vacation at our lake house in Limerick, Maine is the place to go. While I always preferred the excitement and activity of vacationing at the beach or at Disney World, the years we have spent our family vacations at Lake Arrowhead in Limerick has brought a new meaning of the word "vacation" for me. I never thought I would like the quietness and lack of the constant hustle and bustle of vacationers everywhere but I soon found that vacationing at the lake was like no other vacation we ever experienced as a family and each year I look forward to the tranquility of being at the lake. While vacationing at the lake is peaceful, there are plenty of fun things to do---sometimes it just takes a little creativity like in the old days when there were no such things as cable TV, video games or computers. Vacationing at the lake as a family year after year, Bruce and I built a bond and closeness with our children that we never would have gotten at the usual hectic and ever-busy family vacation spot and it was those years at the lake that made our children want to continue to vacation with us through their adult years. As a family, we created the fun and each year it got better and better. You'd be surprised what fun things you can create to do as a family---things that don't involve computers or the TV! We fish morning, noon and night (catch and release only), we have fishing competitions, we play cards and board games, we sit around the campfire and talk about the past and dream about the future, we race our remote controlled speed boats, we swim in the cool clear water and sometimes we just sit and relax in the warmth of the Summer sun or catch some ZZZ's under a shady tree.
